Andy and the team service and valet the vans. Andy is also good friends with the owner Charlie Willis which is why he recommends his van hiring service. But don’t just take our word. Charlie’s family firm SL1 and Slough Van & Truck Centre Ltd is well known in the Buckinghamshire and Berkshire area for more than 50 years for its high service and great value for money.

Knights Van Hire is open online seven days a week to help with your van rental quest. Click, view and choose from a fleet menu. Here’s an illustration: to hire a small van like a VW Caddy, it is £39.99 per day. Or you may need a medium van such as a Ford Transit, that’s £49.99 to hire per day. If you’re looking for a larger space capacity try a courier-size van at £69.99 per day, or for house-moving, there are Luton vans at £79.99 per day.

You can book online using the interactive calendar. There is no deposit policy. You set the excess amount, and your quote price includes VAT, insurance, breakdown cover and unlimited mileage. Discount adjustments can be built into your request if you need the van for more than three days or a few weeks or need to travel overseas.

Details to get you moving

It’s that simple. You don’t need to upgrade your driving licence. If you are over 25 years old, you need 12 months experience behind the wheel. If you’re under 24, there’s no additional charge, but you must have two years and four months driving experience. And, if you don’t have a UK licence, you will need to be over 25 and have driven for more than two years.

On the day of hire, you need to produce your driving licence and bring a unique issue code from the DVLA. Payment is taken on a credit/debit card only, along with a second form of I.D, i.e. utility bill or a Passport.

If you need equipment to help with moving heavy items, there are trolleys for free. They can also provide moving boxes and sheets. There is even free parking, so leaving your car makes the hassle of returning the van a lot easier after doing your job.
